Hong Kong Island Events Calendar 2026
Everything on this page happens on Hong Kong Island - Central, Wan Chai, Causeway Bay, Happy Valley, Aberdeen, Stanley, The Peak or Pok Fu Lam. This is a listings guide, not a table of public holidays: each entry carries the date, the venue, what it costs and why it is worth your evening. Dates, venues and prices were last checked on 8 November 2026 against the organiser, the tourism board or the government listing, and cross-checked against a second independent source. Anything that has been announced but not yet confirmed is grouped near the foot of the page, so it never reads as a firm date. November and December also have their own pages, each carrying that month's dates, venues and prices on one screen.

November 2026
The rest of the month - seven dated events with their dates, venues and prices in full - is on its own page: Hong Kong Island events in November 2026. The entries below are the November fixtures that are open on more than one evening, or that run across the month.
Happy Wednesday - Music & Dine Festival race nights
Wednesdays 11, 18 and 25 November 2026, from 6pm · Happy Valley Racecourse, Wong Nai Chung Road, Happy Valley
Entry: HK$10 for the public enclosure; free for visitors on a valid travel document.
Why go: the best-value night out on the island. HK$10 buys a floodlit race card, live music and food stalls in the middle of the city, and if you are here on holiday you walk in free. The 1 and 4 November meetings have already been run.
Verified against the Hong Kong Jockey Club Happy Wednesday
schedule and the Hong Kong Tourism Board events page, which give the same three nights, the 6pm gate and
the HK$10 enclosure.

Anne Imhof: "House of Swans"
25 September 2026 to 3 January 2027, Tuesday to Sunday, 11am to 7pm · JC Contemporary and F Hall, Tai Kwun, 10 Hollywood Road, Central
Entry: HK$50, HK$40 concession; multi-entry ticket HK$90.
Why go: the largest contemporary art commission at Tai Kwun this season, staged across two of the site's galleries. The multi-entry ticket is worth the extra HK$40 if you want to come back and see it again, and the November Tai Kwun Christmas programme runs alongside it.

Muse Fest HK 2026
1 to 30 November 2026 · LCSD museums and partner venues, city-wide - only a few participating venues are on Hong Kong Island
Entry: mostly free, or normal museum admission.
Why go: a month of talks, tours and family workshops across the public museums under the theme "Hong Kong Story". The headline venues are in Kowloon, so check the LCSD programme for the island venue closest to you before you travel.

December 2026
The month's dated entries - Clockenflap, the International Jockeys' Championship, the two Christmas race nights and the countdown itself - are collected with their prices on the Hong Kong Island events in December 2026 page. The entries below are the December fixtures that run across several days or nights rather than for one evening.
Clockenflap 2026
Friday 4 to Sunday 6 December 2026 · Central Harbourfront Event Space, 9 Lung Wo Road, Central
Entry: ticketed, from HK$1,690 (blind bird). Ticketflap is the official outlet - buy from it directly.
Why go: three days of headline music on the Central waterfront, a ten-minute walk from Central MTR. The first line-up announcement already names Hayley Williams, Keshi and Slowdive.
Verified against the Clockenflap press release and three
independent listings.

Happy Wednesday - Winter Wonderland race nights
Wednesdays 16 and 23 December 2026, from 6pm · Happy Valley Racecourse, Happy Valley
Entry: HK$10 public enclosure; free for visitors on a valid travel document.
Why go: the December race nights get the full Christmas treatment - lights, carols and seasonal food stalls around the track - and the price does not move.
Verified against the Hong Kong Jockey Club's racecourse events
calendar and its fixture list, which give Happy Valley on Wednesdays 16 and 23 December, and the Hong
Kong Tourism Board event page, which prints "16 & 23 December 2026" and the 6pm gate.

Stanley Plaza Seaside Christmas Market 2026
18 to 27 December 2026, Thursdays to Sundays only, noon to 9pm · Stanley Plaza, Stanley
Entry: free.
Why go: the best-value Christmas market on the island and the only one where you shop with a sea view. Pair it with a walk along Stanley Promenade - our Stanley Market guide covers the stalls, the buses and the timing.
Two listings agree the market runs 18 to 27 December and that it
opens Thursdays to Sundays; they differ on whether 21 to 23 December are open days. Treat the Thursday
to Sunday pattern as the safer guide and check with Stanley Plaza before making a special trip.

one has not yet been confirmed by a second independent source.

Hong Kong New Year Countdown Celebrations
Thursday 31 December 2026, at midnight · Victoria Harbour - the Wan Chai and Causeway Bay waterfront is the island-side view
Entry: free to watch from the harbourfront.
Why go: a fireworks musical over the harbour at midnight, with the island's own waterfront as the front row. No ticket and no venue: pick a spot on the promenade in the early evening and stay put.

11 August 2026 (31 December, Victoria Harbour, a fireworks musical over the harbour) and The HK HUB,
which prints the date and the midnight timing.

Public holidays: Christmas Day falls on Friday 25 December 2026, with the first weekday after Christmas on Saturday 26 December 2026.
The calendar rolls straight over into January 2027 on Hong Kong Island, where the Hong Kong Marathon finishes in Causeway Bay and the Lunar New Year fair opens in Victoria Park.
Runs and seasons in 2026
Four of the year's fixtures run for weeks rather than days. Each is listed here once, with the days it opens and closes, instead of being repeated in every month it touches:
- Hong Kong Gourmet Month 2026 - 29 October to 30 November 2026 (33 days), the tourism board's restaurant promotion across the city. Its last day is the issue date for any set-menu booking.
- Hong Kong WinterFest 2026/27 - November 2026 to early January 2027. The tourism board publishes that window rather than dates: Statue Square Gardens becomes a Christmas Town around a 20-metre tree, with a 360-degree light show in Central and Hongkong Land's displays along Chater Road. The "14 November 2026 to 3 January 2027" figure circulating on aggregator sites is not the tourism board's and is not printed here.
- Hong Kong Brands and Products Expo 2026 (60th edition) - 12 December 2026 to 4 January 2027 (24 days), 11:00-21:00, Victoria Park, 1 Hing Fat Street, Causeway Bay, HK$10 at the gate. It closes inside January, so the January 2027 page carries the closing date.
- AIA Carnival 2026/27 - 22 December 2026 to 21 February 2027 (62 days) at the Central Harbourfront, which makes it the one fair on the island that runs straight through the winter.
Announced, but not yet confirmed
These are not confirmed dates. Do not plan around them yet. Each of the following has either two sources that disagree or a single listing behind it, so none of it is listed as a firm date above.
Fine Art Asia 2026. Trade directories list 26 to 29 November at the HKCEC, but the fair's own website shows 3 to 6 October 2026. The two disagree, so it is not listed above until the organiser confirms.
Not listed, single source only: the Victoria Harbour Race open-water swim (15 November 2026), the Cyberport Love Relay Charity Run and Carnival in Pok Fu Lam (8 November 2026), the Cathay Camera Club annual exhibition at the Hong Kong Arts Centre (20 to 22 November 2026), and the "Reframing North Korea" exhibition at the Hong Kong Arts Centre (22 October to 18 November 2026). Each has one listing and no organiser confirmation yet.
Ballet performances inside Anne Imhof: House of Swans (1, 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28 and 29 November, 2.30pm and 3.45pm) come from a single listing; the individual dates are not printed until Tai Kwun confirms them.
