Hong Kong Island Events Calendar 2027
2027 is barely announced yet, so this page does something more useful than guessing: it carries the Hong Kong Island events that are genuinely dated - the Lunar New Year fair and fireworks, the marathon finishing in Causeway Bay, the Chinese New Year arts and music season - plus a clearly marked section for the annual fixtures that have not been given dates yet. Dates, venues and prices were last checked on 27 October 2026 against the organiser, the government listing or the tourism board, and cross-checked against a second independent source.

January 2027
Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2027
Sunday 17 January 2027 · starts on Nathan Road in Tsim Sha Tsui, finishes at Victoria Park, Causeway Bay
Entry: race places closed; free to watch from the street.
Why go: the biggest sporting fixture of the island year. The Causeway Bay and Wan Chai stretches, and the Victoria Park finish, are where the crowds gather - and it costs nothing to stand at the barrier.
Verified against the race organiser and the Hong Kong Tourism
Board event page, which give the same race day and name Victoria Park as the finish.

Lunar New Year Fair - Victoria Park
31 January to 6 February 2027 (seven days), closing in the early hours of 6 February · Victoria Park, Causeway Bay
Entry: free.
Why go: the island's biggest flower market. Blossom branches, orchids, New Year decorations and street food crammed into Victoria Park for a week, and the last night runs through into Lunar New Year's Day. Go early in the week for room to move, or late on the final night for the atmosphere. Thirteen other districts run fairs too - this is the island one.
Verified against the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department
fair notice, the stall auction coverage and an independent listing.

Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair 2027
11 to 14 January 2027, 9am to 6pm · Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, 1 Expo Drive, Wan Chai
Entry: trade fair, registration from HK$100.
Why go: a trade show rather than a day out, but it is the week the toy trade takes over Wan Chai, and the HKCEC's restaurants and bars fill up accordingly.
Two independent listings carry the dates and cite HKTDC as the
organiser.

dates still to be confirmed by a second source.

February 2027
Lunar New Year - Year of the Goat
Day one: Saturday 6 February 2027. General holidays: 6, 8 and 9 February 2027 (the 7th is a Sunday)
Why go: the island goes quiet and then very loud. Expect lion dances through Central, Stanley and Causeway Bay, and most small shops shut for two to three days; hotel restaurants and the big malls stay open.

2027 general holiday notice.

Hong Kong Arts Festival 2027 (55th edition)
Opens 18 February 2027, running through March · Hong Kong Island venues include Hong Kong City Hall (Central) and the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (Wan Chai), plus the Cultural Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui
Entry: ticketed; advance booking discounts usually run into late November.
Why go: nearly 1,500 artists and more than 190 performances across the festival. The opening concerts pair Canadian pianist Bruce Liu with Rafael Payare and the Orchestre symphonique de Montreal. The City Hall and Academy for Performing Arts shows are the ones a visitor can walk to.
Opening date and scale verified against two independent press
reports and the festival's own programme pages. The closing date is disputed - one report says 19 March,
another 21 March - so treat the festival as running through March.

8pm to 10pm, Wednesday 17 February 2027 · Hong Kong City Hall Concert Hall, Central

Hong Kong Sinfonietta - "Good Music for Babies"
13 and 14 February 2027 · venue to be confirmed (likely Hong Kong City Hall, Central)
Entry: ticketed.
Why go: a short, relaxed concert designed for very young children - one of the few things in the city calendar that works with a baby in arms.
From the orchestra's own season release; the venue and dates
still need a second source.

Hong Kong Race Week 2027
16 to 21 February 2027 · Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club - Kellett Island, Causeway Bay, and Middle Island, Repulse Bay

Art Basel Hong Kong 2027
Late March 2027 (widely listed as 25 to 27 March) · Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Wan Chai
Entry: ticketed, day and season passes.
Why go: the biggest art fair in Asia, and the week Wan Chai becomes the centre of the art world. Treat the dates as the fair's usual late-March slot rather than a confirmed booking, and check artbasel.com before you arrange travel.
Expected window only. The fair has not published 2027 dates to a second source, so this is flagged rather than listed as a fact.
Announced, but not yet confirmed
Not listed above because they are not yet firm.
Chinese New Year Night Parade, 6 February 2027. The parade route is on the Kowloon side (Tsim Sha Tsui), so it is not an island event anyway, and one Hong Kong source warns that the 2027 parade dates are unverified until the tourism board confirms them in December 2026.
Single source only, so not listed: the Lantern Festival date (reported as 20 February 2027), and the Hong Kong Whisky Festival (reported as 27 February 2027, venue not stated). Each has one listing and no organiser confirmation.
Confirmed but not on Hong Kong Island, so deliberately left off this page: BigBang's world tour at Kai Tak (13 to 15 November 2026), the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia at the Cultural Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui (20 to 21 November 2026), Lamma Fun Day on Lamma (14 November 2026), TransLantau by UTMB on Lantau (13 to 15 November 2026), and the Hong Kong Sevens at Kai Tak (9 to 11 April 2027).
